Later when she was appointed a Minister for Culture, Maneka ordered a probe into the alleged financial irregularities in some of these Trusts Sonia Gandhi was involved and questioned the Trust Deed of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.
To Maneka’s dismay, she was taken out of the Ministry of Culture and moved to the Department of Statistics. Maneka held Sonia responsible for her movement.
